Activities

Working with our community is an important part of our nursery ethos. We work closely with our local care homes and charities, supporting them through visits, collections and donations.

Learning Experiences

Real life experiences and Active learning

Our strong belief in rich learning experiences is reflected in opportunities such as ‘Living Eggs’, a chance for the children to see the full lifecycle of a chick, tadpoles to frogs, caterpillars to butterflies, hedgehog interaction sessions, live dancing experiences including the Morris Dancers, visits from people who help us such as the police, fire officers and much more.

Our oldest little pips also benefit from local learning walks including to the fire station, the park, the train station, library and much more.

This is in addition to all of the wonderful activities that our amazing team of staff plan for our children.

Communication is Key!

Building strong communication skills from birth to school

Strong emphasis is placed on the development of communication and language skills at Little Pips and this runs through every room from our youngest to our oldest little pips. This includes:

The Graduate Sessions are a unique part of Little Pips Nursery and ensure our children have the best possible start to their school life. As well as preparing our children with confidence building, and independence e.g. dressing independently and social skills, our oldest children take part in a fun daily 20-minute activity focussing on phonics, mark making (writing), and maths. These exciting sessions have been running for over 10 years and their success can be measured in the immensely positive feedback that we receive from schools, parents and of course our children
